Within PCDE we have recently created a Research Committee and I am delighted to introduce to you the committee members Dr. Ana Cebrian from Spain and Dr. Stefan Jansson from Sweden who are both authorities in their countries. Together we will work on PCDE’s research objectives for 2022/2023.
One of the objectives of the research committee for 2022 is to expand the PCDE Study Group and enlarge the capability of the Study Group with enthusiastic researchers from across Europe to work together on joint research projects.
We are particularly interested in candidates who are GPs, pharmacist, or nurses either doing their PhDs, or are post-doctoral researchers.
Candidates are invited to send a motivation and CV to PCDE’s operational manager ottiliahoogeslag@pcdeurope.org.
As a PCDE Study Group member;
o you are part of an international group of peers and KOL’s in primary care diabetes, with the opportunity to work together on research projects and meet at international events.
o you will be invited to apply for the international PCDE annual research grant, by simply submitting your project proposal.
o you have the opportunity to have your research published in PCDE’s international journal Primary Care Diabetes (as a PCDE SG member a speedy review can be guaranteed)
o you are part of an international group that has the objective to liaise with country networks to identify areas where there are gaps in research in diabetes relevant to primary care.
o you are in the loop of doctors who are invited by PCDE to speak at workshops, webinars, summits, conferences and to work with PCDE task groups on various projects (education,research).
As a new Study Group member the following criteria are essential;
o the Study Group holds its annual meeting during EASD and attendance is crucial (either in person or online).
o available to dedicate time to work on protocols and act as a country PI for projects.
o to be connected to a primary care association in your home country.
o to have an academic background with a special interest in high quality diabetes care.
o to have an interest in networking across Europe.
Being part of this international group of researchers gives the candidate the opportunity to work on inspiring and innovative research projects within a dedicated, international team of experts, to share and learn about best practice and to contribute to quality management of primary care in diabetes in his/her country and across Europe.
